No 279 Yellowcake

Cake batter and the revival of the ‘homemade’ was the inspiration for one of Farrow and Ball’s newest paint colors Yellowcake!

But it’s not the cake on the plate that has us so excited about the color, it’s the bold infusion of this classic brights yellow  in design, on walls, in art, and on furniture that keeps catching our eye.

Here, Farrow and Ball’s Yellowcake adds drama to an otherwise neutral room.  Painting the trim and walls, floor to ceiling,  the same color adds an element of sophistication to the design.

Since Farrow and Ball introduced Yellowcake, we’ve been on the lookout for this classic beauty and finding it everywhere.

Richmond’s very own Suellen Gregory, Designer, creates a cheery foyer using a yellow wallpaper contrasted with the high gloss blue front door in Fine Paints of Europe.

These poster beds are mighty fresh paired with crisp whites.   Who wouldn’t want to be a guest in this room!

Speaking of guests, this door gives a  bright “hello!”  Color psychology is  – that behind a  yellow door lives a friendly, optimistic and welcoming family – one that likes to bring people together!
